In my preconception, I had anticipated the blues and reds of the underpainting to play a larger part in the finished work. In the second coat I became involved with the harmonies of the tans and yellows, and painted out more of the underpainting to more enhance those relationships. The second and third coat were used to enrich the predominately warm “lines.” Thought in life the white seems rather pure, it holds a lot of ocher. As busy as my work seems, this work gives the room a peace. I am also happy with the work because I have come to realize it has a great deal to be discovered in it.
