I was born in Provo, Utah in 1962, and I spent my childhood in California, Illinois, and Utah. I attended Utah State University, where I married my husband in 1984, and received my Bachelor of Science degree in Communicative Disorders in 1986. I later decided to follow my passion, art, and earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Utah in 1995. I got to live an artists dream when we moved to Germany, where I travelled, painted, drew, visited wonderful museums, and sold my work. I now live in Utah where I work as the Education Coordinator at the Bountiful Davis Art Center. I also work in my studio and teach art classes.
I have found that my work is not about expressing ideas or issues. My art focuses on color and shapes. I will not choose to paint something unless the combination of colors and shapes appeal to me. Color is a very expressive element and can be made to represent a wide range of moods. It can be rich and vibrant or soft and subtle. I enjoy being able to recreate scenes from life that can be simple yet evocative. I believe that even the most seemingly mundane things are intriguing and are often deep in their simplicity and I seek to capture that. For me art is not solely about others' enjoyment or approval, art is about my own creative process and the enjoyment it gives me. Some of the best moments for me while painting, are when the colors and forms work together to makea subject come alive.

I am a member of:
Oil Painters of America
American Women Artists
Intermountain Society of Artists
