After being diagnosed with a lifelong autoimmune disease, becoming a single parent at the age of 42, and searching for employment, Shawna’s art became her therapeutic outlet.
“I began painting in 2009 and discovered that art helped me find my inner strength and peace again. My personal experience with art’s power stirred a desire in me to share this amazing tool with everyone. My mission is to help everyone “Create, Appreciate and Let Art Change You.”
Shawna settled in Fayetteville, Arkansas in 2004 after living in California, Idaho, Oregon, Wisconsin, and Colorado. Her busy days include: her 3 wonderful children, painting commissions, appearing at national art shows, and teaching workshops.
Shawna Elliott has taught painting to both children and adults for over 4 years. She incorporates wellness and self-development into her teaching method by drawing from her BA, Psychology. Shawna works with your personality and learning style to stretch your "artistic comfort zone," bringing improved self-awareness, a sense of fulfillment, and a beautiful piece of art.
“Because I love vivid colors, I most enjoy working with fluid acrylics. This versatile medium has powerful impact, freedom of expressive movement and creates softly, washed watercolor effects. Its’ applications seem unlimited.”
Shawna's works are available on her website and throughout Arkansas galleries, retail shops, hotels, restaurants, and businesses.
Shawna welcomes commissions.
