I'm a professional artist with a resume of exhibits and gallery affiliations dating back to the mid 1980s, when I received my MFA in painting from Arizona State University. I am widely recognized for my innovations in techniques using cold wax medium and oils, which I teach in workshops in the US and internationally.
My abstract imagery arises from time spent in the kind of wild, remote landscapes I love, in places such as Ireland and Sweden, where I have been awarded artist's residencies and fellowships. The visual inspiration of these places mixes with my inner responses and memories. My process involves building up many layers of paint that evolve into complex colors and textures.
I'm affiliated with galleries in numerous locations, including Atlanta, GA; Telluride, CO; Milwaukee, WI; and Dublin, Ireland, and show regularly at international art fairs in London. My work is found in hundreds of private, corporate and public collections. In 2014 I completed my second major commission for the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX.
My home and studio are in a beautiful rural area of Wisconsin, and I spend my winters near Taos, NM.
