My friend, artist Tim Schumm, and I drove from Banff to the Columbia Icefields one day, not packing anything really, and of course coming back hungry and thirsty well past dark. This was entirely my fault. The drive really doesn't take that long, but being full of wonder over the mountains, creeks, water, pretty much everything along the way, I kept asking him to stop! And, as one of the kindest, most generous people I know, he did. This was one of those stops. I had spied a waterfall. We hiked down and found a goldmine of beauty! I was so excited, hopping from rock to rock (which is scary without depth perception!) to get an even better view. We took hundreds of pictures, and spent a good deal of time there, just one of the many stops along the way.
