Karen Laurie Thomas is an artist and naturalist inspired by the plants and animals that are found in the Chesapeake Bay watershed. Karen studied art at The Ohio State University and at The Art League of Alexandria. She has been professionally exhibiting in galleries in the DC metro area since 2013. She spends time in nature every day, and her art captures the gratitude, compassion for living things, and calmness that she feels in nature.
Karen works as the Marketing and Development Manager for Creative Cauldron, a non-profit art organization in Falls Church, VA, and serves as the Executive Secretary for the Commission for the Arts for the City of Alexandria. She is an active member of the Arlington Regional Master Naturalists and Arlington County’s bacteria and macroinvertbrate stream monitoring program.
