His non-fiction memoir : "Being and Homelessness: Notes from an Underground Artist" was published by Wordsworth Greenwich Press in 2012. The book is a graphic-existential account of his 6 months existing as a homeless artist on Chicago's mean streets. He states his life spiraled downward after being accused of a crime he did not do. That felony conviction led to him becoming homeless after trying to survive as a street artist during Chicago's artic cold winters and burning hot summers. Being homeless and falsely convicted has haunted him his entire life but he has still achieved a modicum of success despite that injustice.
He was briefly a Chicago schoolteacher and later was hired in the private sector as a supervisor for a high tech acoustic company--where he worked 27 years while still pursuing his art and lit. He has 2 daughters, a son and 2 grand children.
He states one of the happiest days of his life was after punching-out of his 9 to 5 job, he got a call from Rob Kenner, editor of VIBE fiction books, that his sci-fi novel BODYSLICK would be published in 2008,.
Now retired, Sibley continues his passion of painting and writing full time.
Mr.Sibley is represented by the Atkinson-O'Rourke gallery in Elmhurst, Illinois.
