Osage Orange
The fruit is inedible but their seeds are said to be delicious. The seeds are deeply embedded in a fruit pulp that is multi-layered, tightly packed and filled with sticky white latex. If you go through all the work digging out the seeds try roasted a batch with just olive oil and salt.
Also people have long believed that the cut open fruit repels spiders, crickets and other household insects.
