Originally from southern California, I was raised with my toes in the sand. I spent many summers as a young girl, floating out in the wave breaks, poised and waiting to dive under the endless sets of waves. Since moving from the west coast, I’ve lived in many places typically near a body of water; be it lake, river, canal or sea.
I am drawn to nature, specifically, objects in nature that are in constant motion, such as clouds and water. More so these days, I’ve resonated with the ocean; its color, its movement, and its ability to remind me of how small and insignificant I am in its presence. I want to capture the small, intricate things about the ocean that I feel, makes it so mesmerizing, such as the different colors of the water when the sun shines through the back of the wave. I enjoy defining the edge between the sea foam and the wet sand, suspending the sand and bubbles inside a wave or how the water dances and swirls once it comes in contact with a stationary item.
Today, travel and water is synonymous. During the cold Ohio winters, my travel photographs help keep me inspired and connected to warmer days.
