A multi-media artist, Anne has an extensive portfolio of acrylic paintings on canvas, wooden furniture, lampshades, and vinyl floor cloths, as well as mosaic tile tables and a popular line of hand-painted recycled containers called Anne's Canz!
The most visible example of Anne's own artistic style is "Celeste" the whale, a whimsically painted baby beluga on permanent display outside Niantic Cinema in Southeast Connecticut. Commissioned by Niantic Main Street, Anne created Celeste in 2005 as part of the Connecticut Whale Trail public art project. After withstanding seven years of outdoor weather and admiring children climbing on her back, Celeste received a full restoration and reprinting in 2012.
Anne has taught art classes to adults and children since 1989, while also designing her own line of decorative functional art for commercial and residential clients. Anne's work has been showcased at Artisan Framing & Gallery in Niantic, CT, Left Bank Gallery in Essex, CT, WhyEverNot in Mystic, CT and Studio 33 in New London, CT.
In support of local non-profit organizations, Anne has donated paintings to Terri Brodeur Brest Cancer Foundation, Alliance for Living, East Lyme Youth Services and the Children's Museum of Southeast Connecticut. As a set designer, she has painted large scale sets for stage productions of Marie Curie School, Clairemont Shopping Center and the Pepperidge Puppet Theater Company.
Originally from California, Anne's work was prominently featured in displays at William-Sonoma and the Mary Birch Hospital for Women in San Diego, Loew's Coronado Bay Resort, and showcase homes of the American Society ... more
