Rolling into fall!

Updates on events and my new studio.

Rolling into fall!

Hey All!

It’s been a minute since I posted any updates. I’m happy to say my absence has been productive. If you weren’t aware, I’ve moved since my last post and now live in Maryville, TN. My studio is currently in the basement of a rental house while we build our new house and new studio:)

New Studio!!

That’s one of the most exciting things for me! I’m ready to have a dedicated space outside the house, but still close to home. The image on this post is of the current state of my new studio. It’s just a short walk from the house.

While the new house and studio won’t be completed until spring, I’m making the most of this temporary space. It’s actually a great space with an attached garage area where I can do some of my messier work.

Artclectic:

I have a couple events coming up. The first one is Artclectic at University School of Nashville. This is one of my favorite exhibits. It’s just 3 days and a lot of work, but I’ve thankfully done well selling work at this show. I’ve been busy all summer building up inventory and am ready to see it on the wall and hopefully finding a home:) The Dates for Artclectic are Oct. 19-21. The 19th is a patrons party that does cost to attend, but Friday the 20th and Saturday the 21st are free and open to the public. If you love my bees then make sure and drop by. I’ll have a lot of my bees in various sizes along with other new work, including this “Cash Train”

Artsclamation:

Artsclamation is an exhibit similar to Artclectic, but this is in Knoxville, TN. It’s also a fundraising event ran by Covenent Health. The dates for Artsclamation are December 1-2. Friday the 1st is a preview party from 6-9pm and Saturday the 2nd is 9am-4pm and open to the public. Now that I live closer this show will be much easier than last year. Still a great event with a lot of amazing artist in attendance. Find more info at: Artsclamation.

Centennial Arts Center w/ Four Artist TN

I’m going to be back and forth the Nashville for a while. After the first of the year I’ll be teaming up with “Four Artist TN” again. We’ve been given the opportunity to share some of our series of paintings where we all tackle our interpretation of the same subjects or other discussed criteria. Last year we had a similar exhibit in Knoxville at The Emporium Gallery. While the art looked great hanging in the space we were challenged with low attendance at the event because of some terrible weather. Maybe we’ll have better luck this time around. Centennial Art Center is a great space and just large enough for us to have an intiment showing of our collborations. The show dates are February 2- March 27. We’ll have an artist reception on Feb 3rd from 5-7:30pm. I know I have some Nashville friends that will be able to make this event:)

What’s next?

While I don’t have anything on the calendar yet I’ll be working through some opportunities for 2024. One of those will be with Kore Gallery in Louisville. I was recently in a Black and White show and have several paintings on display in the main gallery. If you are in the Louisville, KY area make sure and drop by the space and see Don. He’s an amazing person that truly cares for the arts and the artist. I feel fortunate to be included in his pool of artist. Of course, The Copper Fox Gallery in Leiper’s Fork, TN (Franklin area) is another gallery I’m excited to partner with. I’ll be working on new paintings for their space too. With that said, I have a lot of work to do and I’ll be moving my studio to the new space in the spring. Don’t be surprised if my blog updates aren’t happening very often. Remember, you can always follow my FaceBook and InstaGram accounts for more info as it happens.

That’s all for now! Thanks for reading and I hope to see you at one of my events!

Best, RLP
