A Century in the Sky: 100 Years of the MN Air National Guard
MSP Terminal 1, C Concourse Art Gallery
June 2021 - December 2021
2021 marks 100 years since the 109th Aero Squadron became the first federally recognized National Guard flying unit in the country, effectively founding the Air component of the National Guard. This exhibit delves into the Minnesota Air National Guard's rich history, telling the stories that tie back to the inception of MSP Airport itself (known first as Wold-Chamberlain Field), showcasing photos and real equipment used by the Guard over the last century.
Flight suits, model aircraft, aerial photography equipment, and a life-size medivac litter from a C-130 Hercules are complemented by story panels, historical video, and award-winning artwork by Veteran of the US Air Force and MN Air National Guard Annie Young.
